Refractoriness is different from melting point, melting point is the balance temperature that materials reach to melting point which is between solid and liquid crystal, however, refractoriness is a process in which the solid phase of the material is gradually dissolved in the liquid phase and finally is melted with the increasing temperature.

The chemical and mineral composition, distribution and combination of each phase have a decisive influence on refractoriness of zirconium sizing nozzle refractory, such as fused cast azs block, fused cast alumina block, fused cast high zirconia block. All kinds of impurities can seriously reduce the refractoriness, so it is pretty important to improve the purity of raw material and strictly control the content of impurity.

However, in actual application, besides the high temperature, refractory is also corrosive by other impurity, working environment is quite complicated, so refractoriness is used as a reference, and can not be more accurate data.
